Luna and I on Valentines Day |
I just love my dog so much! |
I've also made a goal to read 25 books this year. I kind of started this a little late but I ended up reading 2 books this past spring break. It was GREAT. It made me want summer so much because pretty much that's what I do during the summer. I read because I can't get through books as fast during the semester, plus I'll put off assignments or studying to read if it's a good book. so during spring break I read Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And other concerns). I love Mindy's character Kelly on The Office so I was sure I would love her book and I did. It was too funny. And I also read Stieg Larsson's The Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest in record time personally. I devoured that book, it was so good. In order for me to keep up with my goal, I am using GoodReads . However, they do keep reminding me that I'm 11% behind. But I know this summer I will catch up fast.
Speaking of books, the Hunger Games movie came out last night and as much I would have loved to go to the midnight release, I just cringe at the thought of being packed in a movie theater with little teeny boppers giggling and squealing at the presence of Peeta and Gale on the screen. I think I'll pass on that. I am so sad that the Twilight groups have caught on to this amazing story. Yeah I get a little possessive of things I love so much. (Even though I was disappointed in Mockingjay but we won't go there) I still love this series and I tend to get possessive of something that I read when it first came out 4 years ago and I still remember having to wait a whole year before the second or third books came out. And now all these people are just now reading the books and going to see the movie before me. Whatever,it's petty I know. I get the same way about Harry Potter fans who have never read the books, which is even worse IMO.
But I'm mighty excited about the movie. Probably going to see it on Monday with Thomas since he doesn't have to student teach that day.
I have only 5 more weeks of school and then summer is officially here! I do have a summer course this summer, which is going to be about paleolithic nutrition. I think its going to be fun. Dr. Landis has already said hes got field trips planned out and we won't have to come to class everyday which is awesome. Plus its only going to be 6 weeks long. Hallelujah.
I am ready for summer also because I get to start wedding planning again. It is at a complete halt right now. I think the first thing I'm doing in May is going to taste cakes with my mom. One thing at a time I guess. It still doesn't mean I haven't been Pinteresting . Its just neat all the things you find on that site. I usually do most of my pinning during my stats class. It's pretty boring. I have found many recipes on there though. Thomas and I made some thai turkey burgers with peanut sauce the other night and it was one of the best meals I've ever help make. And now I follow that blog that it came from.
I love March. March Madness that is. My Blue Devils lost in the first round and I was there. It was tough. Thomas came to watch Carolina and I could care less what they do ;) But we had a good time.
What a pair we are. :) |
I love watching all the other games in the tournament. It's great. I look forward to this time of year, every year. Right now I'm pulling for NC State. I hope they can beat Kansas, even though I don't hate Kansas either. They are a good team. I just hope the ACC can get another win.
So that's all right now. There are some fun plans coming up this month and next. A secret trip for someone's birthday (I don't want to say b/c I'm not really sure if they read this) and a trip with my mom to go to Cherokee. Yes its gambling and I don't really like gambling at casinos but it'll be fun trying to win some money for our Wedding fun haha Let's hope we win the big one!
Last pictures, it's of Thomas and I from Valentine's Day, which was fabulous btw. :)
This one makes me laugh, our sucky attempt at a family picture |
