8 months later....

I have returned to my blog and I am sad to say that in the time that has passed I haven't cooked or baked or anything as much as I've wanted to. :(
In better news...I graduated in May so I finally have my bachelors in Nutrition! :)

One step closer to my goal of becoming a RD. Next step is to get my master's and I am almost done with my first semester at Meredith College. I only have 3 finals and I will be 1/5 of my way towards my master's. This is exciting and this semester has been interesting. It is a completely different ballgame compared to undergrad. I only have 3 classes a week and they are all in the evening. This means that I get all my work done during the day and when I get back...I pretty much go back to doing work I started earlier in the day. At first I thought I had too much time on my hands. But once the assignments started becoming due all at once I thought I didn't have enough time! It has been a test of my time management and my fight against procrastination and distraction.

Another thing that has changed in my life is the addition of my dog, Luna. She is now 8 months old and I can't believe it! Thomas got her for me for our anniversary (1 year!) and she has made me soo happy! She has come a long way since we first got her...a time where I thought maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to get a dog because I became a little stressed out. Training a puppy while I living with my mom at the time and preparing to move and mentally prepare for grad school was a lot to deal with. She's house trained now and she knows some tricks like sit, lay down, please (where she spins on her hind legs) and shake. She's a special girl and I couldn't imagine my life without her now.
Here are some photos:

She loves to give kisses...even if it's up your nose. :)

In other news, this summer I volunteered at the Edible Schoolyard and had a blast. The kids were great and I think that I got a lot more experience working with kids and this summer it felt less like work and more like having fun learning and exploring the garden.
Plus I got to hold a bantum rooster.

I did travel a lot this summer. I had the opportunity to go to San Diego for FNCE. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go again! Other than the conference, my favorite part was going to see the Coronado Hotel, this is where they shot the movie Some Like it Hot starring Marilyn Monroe. It was an awesome place. We went to it twice.

We had some good eats too :)

I also went to Maine this summer to visit some of Thomas' family. It was so much fun and I loved meeting everyone. I hope to go back soon.

Thomas and I have been watching tons of Mad Men the past couple of months so for this past Halloween, we dressed as 1960's characters from the show. It was a lot of fun and I got a cute dress out of it and I had my hair straightened and done up in a french twist.

I'm also excited to announce my cousin had her baby this summer and now I have a new baby cousin and his name is Thomas as well! He is adorable and I love him so much!

Sweet boy

Now this brings me to present day. Like I've already said, it's finals week so I'm currently trying to study for my first exam which is on Thursday. I am ready for Christmas break. It's going to be a great Christmas and I'm happy to be spending it with the ones I love.
School may stress me out alot but I am a happy girl :)
